Warm and Cozy
As the days grow colder and fires are built in fireplaces, I think of the warmth and glow of candles. Not to mention the scent! I especially like cinnamon apple candles in the fall as they are an association for me of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
So, tonight I light my candles and enjoy the beauty of candleglow.
Fall is here! The mornings have a fresh snap of coolness. The days are growing shorter and leaves are changing. Some are falling, leaving cruchcy crispness to the ground. I see pecans, acorns, golden rod, hay bales, pumpkins
at the doorway, rich red apples, and funny shapes and sizes of gourds. I feel a quickness in my steps and a lift to my spirits. This is the time of harvest. Everything that we have planted this year, will now be gathered. The Thanksgiving
season is upon us. Halloween nears as the beautiful month of October closes the door for November to open. I hope that your spirits are lifted as you leave the indoors to explore the beauty of nature as it unfolds it most magnificent stage.
Fall is arriving...
Fall is in the air! It is such a sweet time of year for outdoor adventures, walking through the cracking leaves, gathering pecans in the southern grove, snipping stems of cotton or making a wreath. I love the changing season into the cooler
mornings of fall. I hope you take time to notice the leaves as they turn their hue into gold, orange and red. Enjoy the pumpkin patch, the harvest, the corn stalks, hay bales, candy corn, scarecrows and the need for a sleeve in the morning. Open
your windows and let fresh air filter into your home. Find a sweater or a jacket and head outdoors. Celebrate the arrival of fall.
I am continuing my journey into nesting. Join me as I share my twigs and things with you. I am inspired by nature and I enjoy bring natural elements into my home. If you've ever watched a bird build a nest, then you know that it takes time, trial and error and is a process.
Living the beautiful life is not all about being rich and buying everything you set your eyes upon in wonder. It is much more than this, to me. It is living our lives to the fullest, embracing what we have, making the best of each thing
available to us, being creative and finding new ways to use ordinary things, sharing our homes with others, cooking for those we love, letting others enjoy our treasures and collectibles, opening our hearts and our homes to those around us, and inspiring others
to find their talents, gifts and pleasures. I love the beginning of a new day because it ushers in an opportunity to think differently about our lives and to choose new attitudes, fresh perspectives and show our love to family and friends. What
gives you pleasure in your day? Is it cooking an omelet, sewing a pillow, painting a cabinet, setting the table, encouraging others at work, accomplishing your goals, learning a new word, or practicing a new skill? Some of my greatest pleasures are solitary,
like reading, Pinterest, writing and painting. But many others are found in joining others for lunch, shopping or a cup of coffee. We all have something to share. We all have talents, even if we're still finding out what those are, and we
all have gifts. Join me as I share my ideas, pictures and dining experiences.
"vivre la belle vie"
Living the beautiful life is my focus and my intent. Some of the simplest things in life bring us the most beauty. Many are overlooked as we scurry to and fro in the busyness of our daily lives. My desire in life is to embrace all
the wonder around me whether in nature or in art, music and design. I believe in the beauty of creating, whether with a pen in hand or a particular pillow to lay my head upon. I love travel, whether it is across the ocean or down the street. I
enjoy the simplicity of flowers, birdsong and friendly hellos. To go into the bakery to smell the fresh bread baking or to enter a coffee shop and inhale the aroma can be an adventure worth taking. I love poetry and books and writing. All
things gracious seem to stay with me like a bookmark that is worn and frayed by time, yet most beloved. I gather wildflowers or twigs and bring them inside to add a touch of nature to my comfortable, yet charming decor. My space is my sanctuary
where I enjoy peace and tranquility, love and laughter, along with solitude and reflection. I seek beauty! I find it and I will be diligent about sharing it with you. I hope that some word or picture or phrase speaks to you and lifts your
